\n \n We had the best time with our Kuga!! It allowed us to travel coast to coast and find remote places we could not have seen otherwise. The van is compact yet spacious, high enough for my 6\u20194 boyfriend to stand in it. \n \n I hired a van for 21 days and loved how much I got to see outside the busy tourist areas. Travellers Autobarn is close to Narita Airport (about 24 minutes away) and made everything easy. I\u2019d used a JR Pass on my first trip for the big cities, but this time the van was cheaper and gave me way more freedom. I used the Michi Japan Road Guide Offline app for free overnight parking with toilets, and after long drives I\u2019d head to an onsen\u2014totally worth it for $5\u2013$10. I\u2019d definitely recommend hiring a van or car. Amazing experience and super helpful staff throughout the trip. <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

\n \n I spent six weeks traveling around Japan in November and December with a van from Autobarns Japan, and it was a great experience overall. The van was very spacious and comfortable, which made long-distance travel easy and enjoyable. The service was excellent from start to finish \u2014 the staff were helpful, responsive, and professional. Everything was clearly explained, and the vehicle was well prepared for the trip. In terms of price and value, Travellers Autobarn Japan offers a very good deal, especially for an extended journey. The quality of the van and the level of service fully matched the cost. \n \n We had a wonderful 4 weeks in November traveling around Japan in a Kuga campervan. It was easy to book, pick up and drop off and the van itself worked perfectly\u263a\ufe0f. We drove in mountains, highways and small country roads and the van handled it perfectly! It was an amazing way to see and experience Japans lovely countryside. \n \n Rented this cute big beauty and drove around in Japan for a month. Everything has been so convenient with Travellers Autobarn and the campervan has been great with the space and the comfort it provides in driving and also the sleeping arrangement. \n \n Wonderful service from Autobarn Narita. Staff very helpful. Van was really good but couldn't use microwave. I suggested to Yoko get rid of gas cooker and update power supply system. \n \n Brillant service, we rented a hitop Kuger for 4 weeks with no dramas. We emailed to extend for 2 days with no hassle. Recommend this van for anyone wishing a bit of comfort and room. We only had 2 occasions on rural roads where the additional height meant we couldn't go through and had to find a way around. \n \n In August 2025 we traveled through Japan for two weeks in a Kuga Campervan from Travellers Autobarn. \ud83d\ude90\ud83c\udf1f The contact with Mayumi was personal, quick, and very approachable. She helped us with a valid driver\u2019s license, campgrounds, and tips, both before departure and during the trip. For the first time, we were able to pick up our vehicle without stress \u2013 a top experience. \ud83e\udd29\ud83d\ude4f A campervan is the perfect way to discover this fantastic country. \ud83d\uddfe\ud83c\udfef You have all your belongings close and can reach places that would otherwise be difficult to visit. \ud83d\ude90\u26e9\ufe0f Overnight stays are easy at the many Michi no Eki, and you can shower the Japanese way in an onsen. \u2668\ufe0f The people are friendly and the food is delicious. \n \n My son and I just had a wonderful experience traveling across Japan in a travelers autobarn RV. The RV was comfortable, spacious, surprisingly fuel efficient and just about the right size for navigating the roads and streets of Japan. We found that the RV performed well on the highway, and yet was small enough to easily navigate winding mountain roads and village streets. Parking was also simple given the size of the van and the visual and audio aids. We were in the van for three weeks starting at Narita and going as far south is Nagasaki and back. If you\u2019re planning this trip, bring your phone with a high data plan, Google maps and a sense of adventure and you\u2019ll have the time of your life! It is a great company to work with. Total 1,100 km clocked Campervan Cost Yen 148,770 (include full insurance) Petrol Yen 22,755 Toll Yen 12,830 Campervan interior is well maintained and the campervan drives like a normal Hiace van. The ladies manning the Narita booth were all very helpful and speaks English. The van itself was spacious enough for two adults - functional kitchenette with fridge. We didn\u2019t use the microwave at all. The bed is a good size but the mattress is pretty hard so we bought some extra things to make it more comfortable over our 8 month odyssey. Winter in the van is manageable, but does require some workarounds. The space heater can only be used with external power connection - we very rarely stayed anywhere that was possible so our heater got used less than 5 times. We insulated the van with thick bubblewrap\/foil we bought and with the winter sleeping bags provided with the van that worked pretty well for temperatures above freezing. Below freezing you need to wear extra warm clothes to sleep \ud83d\ude2c Mechanically the van was perfect for the first six months then developed some minor electrical issues, though these did not really impact the rest of trip. Hard to find parking lots due to the height of the vehicle and parking in Tokyo is very expensive too. No built in or portable toilet and shower. So the places to park overnight will have to be carefully planned. We parked mainly at road side stations and struggled to look for onsens to bathe few of the days. The advantage of camper van is the flexibility to change itineries due to bad weather conditions. For example we ditched Mt Fuji area when weather forecast was bad and visited other places and returned to see a clear unblocked Mt Fuji. Going to Fumotoppara camping ground with a camper van is cool. But what I don't like the most about the vehicle is the very prominent logo and painting. \n \n We spent 10 days in one of Travellers Autobarns camper vans and explored the beautiful landscape of Japan. The van has plenty of space, the kitchen was well equiped and the comfy bed is easy to install. It is just a cool and different way to explore Japan. It was an easy and friendly handover and the staff explained all the important things you need to know before we hit the road for an unforgettable adventure. While driving or sleeping we always felt safe. Even snow or cold temperatures around Mt. Fuji wasn\u2019t a problem with that camper van. \n \n Flawless rental experience offering the trip of a lifetime. What a great way to see the real Japan! Van was clean with a good quality conversion- not a rattle trap like some can be. We rarely stayed in an actual camps as reservations are a challenge due to language barriers. But there are many many places to stay. We used the iOverlander app and found some incredible places- most with toilets Japanese style which means immaculate with heated seats. The battery set up was great for the fridge, lights and charging your devices. The only reason to seek a campground with a plug is if you need to run a heater or microwave, both of which are certainly non essential. Highly recommend this company and seeing Japan by campervan. On this 8-day, 7-night trip, we drove from Tokyo all the way to Aomori, then returned to Tokyo along the scenic coastal route. Along the way, we saw many breathtaking views. \n \n It was a very nice experience to rent an RV from Travellers Autobahn. The car was easy to drive, and worked just as it should. It has a kitchen inside, and a table and two benches. You can take the table down, and make a bed instead for your nights. We drove 1000 km's in a week, and there were no problems with the car. For us, it was very hot inside when the aircondition was turned off inside (warm weather) so we bought a fan \ud83d\ude01 I can recommend to use this place, for a RV adventure in Japan. Just be sure to have a drivers license, credit card, international drivers license and to check the weather. <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
